-Mary Kathyn Pickle, Brazoria County Republican Party Precinct Chair
Early Voting begins...
Voting serves all of us. Thank you for your commitment.
My name is Charles Burgin. Everyone calls me “Chase”. I’m running for Justice of the Peace in Precinct 4, Place 2 in the upcoming 2022 elections and would appreciate your support in the March 1st primary.
I’m thankful for my years of unique experiences in JP Courts, education, industry, social programs and mental health that have prepared me for this position. It’s that rich experience that I want to bring to our JP Office to serve you, my neighbors in Precinct 4, with these best practices. My goal is to return the office to an open-door policy serving you with fairness and transparency.
Any elected office, if done right, is a partnership between the elected official and the voters. That partnership is based on trust. For almost two decades, the people of Brazoria County have entrusted me with managing your tax dollars, working in your courts and schools, and most importantly, you’ve entrusted me with the success of your children. This is what I mean when I say that “MY JP Office”, will partner with each of YOU to protect our way of life and improve our community.
“I believe the heart of the Republican party is the family unit. When families are strong, our county is strong. That’s why our state and county has been such a great place to raise children over many decades. My hope is that you’ll join me in protecting the community we love from becoming another Houston, or California, community” – Chase Burgin.
In the simplest form, the job of the JP is to keep the peace using the culture of Brazoria County to preserve our wonderful lifestyle. When we work together, it’s a win for all. And I look forward to partnering with you.
It’s true our county, and our precinct, is changing. However, like it or not, it has already changed in many ways. Over the last several elections democrats, aided by outside money, have been working hard to gain a foothold into our county. This particular JP office has seen our margins of victory significantly decrease each election cycle and many prediction models show this seat changing to blue in 2022. Democrats know this as well and they’re coming for it.
Once one office falls, it’s celebrated and viewed as a sign Brazoria County is ready for a political shift. Other elected officials suddenly find themselves having to work twice as hard, compete against more and more opponents, and garner twice as much in donations. This ripple affect can be avoided by electing strong candidates that can stand on their own two feet, but also bring something to the table to help the rest of the party officials.
We can’t continue to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result. We need someone who can "think outside the box" in order for us to keep our values and morals from changing with the precinct. We need someone who has extensive experience with outreach efforts and can bring these new families to the polls for us. We need someone who has proven professional and volunteer experiences throughout our community, both in and out of the political arena. And frankly, if we’re counting on redistricting to help us, then we’ve already lost!
I will work twice as hard as my opponent. If my opponent block walks for 5 miles, I’m going 10. If my opponent calls 100 people, I’m calling 500. My guarantee is that I’ll worker harder than any opponent I may have.
I’m the only candidate in this race that:
Has experience in multiple JP Courts. Working in every JP court for over a decade I witnessed some great work. I also witnessed some not-so-great work. I want to bring the best practices from each office so that Precinct 4 can say, “We have the BEST JP in the state”.
Has brought back our taxpayer dollars from Austin instead of sending them off.
That has worked for Republican candidates in Precinct 4 almost every election cycle (every 2 years) for over a decade. I’ll continue to do this for years in the future so that our values remain a staple of our community.
Has children at home. I’m the only one that understands exactly what families are going through to raise a child these days. I don’t want my children raised under blue leadership in my own community and I’m betting you don’t either.
I’m the only candidate with the education and professional resumé that qualifies me to work with youth, families, and businesses that come before the court.
This is the first-time Conservatives have been given an alternative option for Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Place 2 in almost 12 years. I’m simply asking voters to make their own decision and not base their vote off of political endorsements.
Remember, once you get to the polls, how you vote is kept between you and God.
Charles “Chase” Burgin for Justice of the Peace Pct. 4, Pl. 2. Chase is in the Race!
